About JOYO's editorial content

JOYO publishes barefoot shoe guides and comparisons, with a growing focus on women and children. JOYO also sells its own children's shoes. Our comparison pages identify that relationship.

A correction to this page

An earlier version of this page described “Maya” as a hands-on tester and referred to a medical reviewer. We do not have substantiation for those biographies, testing totals or credentials, and have removed those claims. They should not be relied on as evidence for a recommendation.

How to read our guides

Manufacturer specifications are attributed to the brand. A comparison assembled from published information is not a physical test. We do not claim clinical review unless a named, verifiable reviewer and review record are provided on that specific article.

Some older articles still use earlier bylines or wording. Those bylines do not establish a person's credentials or prove that a shoe was tested. Where a source or measurement is missing, treat the claim as unverified.

Commercial relationships

External retailer links in our new comparison guides currently earn no affiliate commission. Future paid relationships will be disclosed on the affected recommendations. Retailers handle purchases made on their websites.
